which is weird because ive been disconnected from the newgrounds community for a very long time. this is the first time i visit in YEARS.

A nice lil toonie.

I tought it had a nice, simple story. The music was nice too! but there are many things that just dont feel right.

The first thing that really bugs me about this cartoon is how much (honestly) you guys ignored CONTRAST. And it is kind of a big deal. Often, the red guy´s pants and gloves kept merging with the background. You can do this, without using outlines, by simply playing around with colors/changing the colors of the characters clothes.

Second thing... the red guy´s eyes. Pick a design and do your best to stick to it. His eyes went from that cyclopean sonic-like eye form to being 2 separate shapes every now and then. Speaking of wich, remember how those eyes WORK. they shouldnt be shapes floating over the head, but MASSES inside of a skull.

I think both of those problems are caused by, well, bad character design. make at least a bunch of sketches from various angles so that you know whats going on with your character.

The sounds were ok because they help tell the story..., but were they necessary? I feel most of them didnt fit the action, even in the playful way the cartoon is supossed to use them. And they are distracting. They are like that idiot in the background when you are watching the news.

Right now i think you should focus more on your character designs, practice and practice to make the drawings FEEL heavy WITHOUT having the benefit of animation or sounds to assist.

Erratic framerate AAAA

I have no idea how you did it but you somehow found a way to fuck up the framerate in flash without making a cartoon that is graphically intense.

what is going on in your fla. file?

I practically couldnt see your cartoon. I opened it up in different ways to make sure it wasnt just my computer (wich is pretty crappy, but can perfectly play flash cartoons) but nothing worked.

The only thing I remember from the whole thing are the oddly looking characters, the tweens in their bodies that magically make flash go insanely slow, the grocery store that looks suspiciously traced over theKwikie mart

and finally, what I believe was a dumb lazer joke at the end, wich didnt play properly anyway because, again, the framerate was fucked beyond repair).

I really wish I could help you but I have never seen anyone mess up that way.

My closest guess is that you are using an outdated version of flash. I dunno

I'm real sorry that your having trouble with it my best guess would be that maybe your flash player is out of date.

I used Adobe Flash CS4 to make this so i don't think it's a problem on my end again i'm sorry

seriously look at this cartoon again and then tell me you werent honestly expecting it

The animation was bad. It wasnt HORRIBLE but there wasnt much to it either.
That being said the logo at the end did play like a real valve intro but thats not much of a challenge once you have an arsenal of filters at your disposition

250,000 views for THAT is almost insulting

Yessss I love your character/universe designs theres always something interesting to look at.

I think there are a fewwww scenes in this preview where there is too much noise and it kinda draws attention away from what is most important in each scene. try to exploit a bit more the color contrast for composition purposes and try not to detail something if it affects the scene in a negative way

other than that ill love to see the first episode!
